The Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) in association with Shree Dambabalem Ghodem Cultural Association distributed full kit to 305 trainees from Fatorda Football Development Centre at the hands of Aleixo da Costa, Member Secretary GFDC and Damodar Naik, Chairman Ravindra Bhavan. The Chief Guest at the function was Fr. Avinash Rebelo, Parish priest of Holy Spirit Church.

Speaking on the occasion Aleixo da Costa appreciated the coaches for their continuous efforts being put in and motivated the trainees. “You need to make use of the kit given to you. The GFDC playing kit needs to remind you that you have to go to the ground for practice at a particular time every day,” he said.

Fr. Avinash felicitated Aleixo Da Costa, Member Secretary GFDC on the occasion for the hard work put in by GFDC within a short span and the fruits being sown. At the same time he also expressed pleasure in seeing young children in football attire provided by GFDC. “In my days when I used to play in the seminary we did not have the facility that is there today. It is very nice to play a sport. As sports teaches you to be a disciplined and better person in life,” told Fr. Avinash.

Damodar Naik thanked GFDC for their efforts in promoting the sport.
